so when is Christmas?

It’s been a long week. I can’t remember the last time I was this sick – and really, it’s just a sinus infection… ears, throat, etc. No fever, nothing to do but drink lots of fluid, invest in the Puffs company and wait it out. Perhaps, whenever I’m sick I forget how miserable I was as soon as I get better. At any rate, it seems like a long time and I’m seriously tired of this bug.

Christmas itself was relatively okay. I went out briefly Thursday to get cold medicine but I haven’t gone upstairs, I really don’t want to infect Dad. This kind of thing is much worse on older persons, or so I hear. I keep in touch by phone. :) Checked in with him tonight and he wanted to know when Christmas was….going to be? After all, we hadn’t had Christmas dinner yet.

Sigh. I’m wondering if I’ll find his Christmas dinner leftovers covered in hair when I get up there again.

We avoided any big snow, so far. There was a little bit of snow today and it could be icy out there. Supposed to be nice Sunday but snow/rain predicted for Monday. I hope that January 10th is clear and I can get him to his doctor appointments.

What did you make for Christmas dinner? (Did I miss seeing that?) We went out for a grilled fish lunch. I’m still avoiding that thing in the kitchen that beeps at me.

I made ham, sweet potatoes and roasted butternut squash. Roasted with squash with a bit of bacon fat instead of olive oil or butter. Yum. Simple.

  2. So sorry you’ve been sick! There’s a lot of flu going around here right now. Hope you’ve had your shot.

  3. Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling sick – that’s never any fun. Hope you feel better real soon!

Gradually getting better Scott. Happy New Year to you and I hope you (and everyone else) manages to skip this sinus/cold thing that’s going around.
