This was one of those weekends when I didn’t get much of anything I planned to do, done. Got the laundry done anyway. Isn’t that a chore that hardly seems worth listing? The hardest part is putting stuff away and remaking the bed and even that doesn’t really take much time. I had all last week to get stuff done while I was stuck at home, too, and didn’t. I had to be constantly ready – during the day – to go get the car, which finally got done late Friday afternoon.
Ah, the car. Remember that it started Monday morning but stalled out about a half mile from home then limped to the local shop with the engine light on? The computer said that the fuel pressure sensor was not registering any fuel pressure although the fuel pump appeared fine? I asked at the time why that would make the car stall – I get why it might not start if it thought it had no fuel pressure, but if it was already running, why stall? Turned out I was right. The new fuel pressure sensor arrived on Wednesday and when they took it out on a test drive, it stalled. So they were back to trying to figure out what was wrong and I admit, nice as they were to me, I wish they’d spent Monday trying to figure out what else might be going wrong. They had to order a new fuel pump driver module once they discovered that tapping on the one there caused the car to immediately stall. That part came Friday and by late afternoon the car was running fine. Whenever I get a car repaired I worry about something dying the next time I drive it and I ended up not going anywhere this weekend. So, I’m a little nervous this morning. I must give props to the shop when Thursday, I told them I was out of insulin, cigarettes, fancy feast, and desperately needed to get to the post office. The owner’s wife ran me around town so that Zoe didn’t bite my toes for lacking fancy feast.
Our neighbors helped me charge Dad’s car and we managed to get it started. So, I took it in and traded it for my car on Friday. I want it checked out and have the regular, long overdue, maintenance done. It’s just been sitting there for 7 months and there are several potential issues though it seemed to run okay. I guess I will have a back up car, just need to be sure that I run it at least weekly. And I will need to learn a way to disable it if Dad does come home since he really does not need to drive. Maybe I’ll just keep his key. Neighbor would like to buy the car but it sure seems like a good idea to have a spare. Dad’s car is newer and has less mileage so it’d probably make more sense to sell my car if I sell either.
And that’s all the time I have this morning. I plan to write about my goals for this year and the progress I’ve made or not made and what I want to do next. Soon.

Hey good news that your car is back among the running. That’s one less thing to inconvenience you. On the other hand, looking after two cars should be a wonderful way to inconvenience you! So I’d say that you’re breaking even in the car headache department.
I reckon it could be a blessing or a curse. I think the annoying thing is going to be that my computer is set to start complaining about an oil change at 3 months – and typically down here I don’t hit 3000 miles until at least 6 months. Now that I’m dividing my driving between two cars, will they ever stop whining about wanting their oil changed?
Glad that you will have TWO cars running. I seem to always have issues after I have any work done on my car, so I’m superstitious too. And WHY can’t they be problem solvers before they replace parts that are probably just fine!! Grrrr.
I know, right? Okay, the first thing they found needed to be fixed but why wait 2 days to find out that it wasn’t the only thing wrong? That’s what makes me nervous about what else is going to go wrong.
Glad to hear that your car is back in working order!
